: : U of C professor Ted Morton said the positive relationship between Canada and the U.S. comes from a shared interest in peace, but that could be in jeopardy.
: Yeah, that's why people from allover Canada did manifastations for peace and for banning this senseless war for oil.
- The prime minister is doing this for Quebec. A great majority of Albertans think Canada should be a participant. Even if not a huge militarily deployment we could help like some European nations who are officially part of the coalition. The premier of Ontario supports America, the old premier of Ontario supports America. It's the federal government and Quebec who are against this.
: : "I learned in Israel that if you're not willing and able to defend your country, that your country won't be yours for very long," he said. "In the affluence of peace in North America, we've forgotten that."
: Defend Canada against what? How could Canada possibly get attacked by Irak?
- Well some people did plan a terrorist attack in a Jewish neighborhood years ago.
: Why people for you country wish so much to die? Canadian army is a joke... Their weapons are obsolete. Many american soldiers died even thought their technology is far more impressive than the Iraki's. I think that if Canada would have joigned the war, they would get their ass kicked all over the desert. Maybe for support or backup, they could be usefull... But why would the USA need support anyway? They have the largest army.
- They don't really "need" Iceland, Denmark or Poland anyway. But the moral support from your allies are nice to have.
